Public Intimacy focuses on the ways that artists have explored interpersonal relationships, encounters, and exchange in everyday social life in South Africa.
Rockefeller Bellagio Creative Arts Fellow 2014 award
The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center is pleased to announce the awardees for the 2014 Bellagio Creative Arts Fellowship. The Fellows are photographer, Dinh Q. Le who lives and works in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, South African visual artist, Berni Searle who is based in Cape Town, South Africa; and American filmmaker, Wu Tsang who is based in Los Angeles, California. A selection panel consisting of leading figures in the international arts world selected the awardees from a competitive list of nominees. The Fellows will receive a cash prize, a residency at the Bellagio Center, round-trip travel to and from the Center as well as a publication of their work after the residency.

Various spaces throughout the City of Cape Town.
Terminal, curated by Jean Brundrit, Svea Josephy and Adrienne van Eeden Wharton, will see the city’s street poles featuring photographic works by a range of artists from Berni Searle to Lindeka Qampi. These works round an event that is aimed at providing visibility to what continues to be a submerged topic; as well as scope for further discussion, representation and research.
